Building Diversity

On 16 May 2018, the TU Delft Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, in collaboration with the BauHow5 Alliance, will host a workshop on the theme of diversity, equality and inclusion in architectural education, research and practice. The event aims for an open and critical discussion about intersectional approaches to architectural pedagogy, and the ways in which more diverse policies and teaching practices in schools of the built environment could be implemented to improve inclusivity and equality in the architectural profession. Among the topics of discussion will be the representation of gender, sexuality, ethnicity and disability, in academia and practice.

The workshop will comprise an international roster of invited speakers with experience and expertise in the field of diversity and intersectionality in both educational and professional contexts. In addition, there will be staff and student participants from the BauHow5 partner institutions. A detailed programme can be found at buildingdiversity.org.
